We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have a talented harpist and music enthusiast like Lana in our Brighton community.

Lana's monthly performances of gentle harp music and her classical music appreciation group, ’The Great Composers‘, have been incredibly well-received by many and made possible by a generous donation from our valued supporters.

During these sessions, Lana takes everyone on a journey of musical discovery, exploring the works of various great composers, including Mozart.

Residents have thoroughly enjoyed the interactive discussions and musical appreciation events - they have been nothing short of a hit! The turnout has been fantastic, with many enthusiastically attending each month.

In addition to the Great Composers Program, Lana performs soothing harp music during our monthly Gentle Harp Recitals. These performances have been particularly beneficial for our residents living with dementia. Many relaxed and happy residents enjoy the calming and tranquil music.

The benefits of classical music for older people include:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety.
  • Promoting relaxation and better sleep.
  • Enhancing mood and emotional well-being.
  • Facilitating a social atmosphere with likeminded people

We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of Chris and Denis, which has made these programs possible. As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the support of our donors and supporters to deliver programs such as Music Appreciation, enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

We feel privileged to offer these opportunities, and we are delighted to see the positive impact they have had. Lana's warm and engaging presence has made the programs a highlight of our social offerings. We look forward to continuing to share the beauty and benefits of classical music with our Brighton community.
