Maria Reaches New Milestone

Maria Bernardo understands the importance of quality care, and has recently achieved 10 years of service working for the Mayflower community.

Maria became part of the Mayflower family in 2010 as a Registered Nurse before making her way through several leadership roles to take up the position of Executive Officer - Aged Care, and she hasn’t looked back.

“It’s been a wonderful journey, and I get a lot of satisfaction working at Mayflower. I’m very proud to be part of the team,” says Maria.

“I’m also grateful for the great leaders we have, who inspire me every day to be passionate - and who give me a strong sense of purpose.”

While Maria’s role has grown significantly, her nursing training is never far away - with her caring approach to residents and their families shining through.

Maria’s open-door policy encourages residents and their families to connect with her, to ensure they are happy and enjoying life at Mayflower Brighton.

Maria feels it is important for residents’ families to feel welcome and embraced as part of the Mayflower Community - and that by providing a nurturing environment for families also helps improve resident wellbeing. Ultimately, her goal is to is to make a difference in residents’ lives.

“Making an impact in the aged care industry and in resident’s lives is truly motivating,” says Maria.
