It was perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold, when this group of residents from Mayflower Brighton chose to go on a picnic, at Karkarook Park wetlands.

The group fed their bellies with freshly made sandwiches and a fruit platter. They also filled their hearts and souls with good conversation and gorgeous views of the lake.

Previously a sand mine, the stunning lake now provides a refuge for many types of water birds, a home to plenty of fish, and native plants.

What a pleasant way to spend an afternoon!
