Residents of Mayflower Brighton threw a birthday party for a VIP – and had the best time doing it!

Everyone came together to celebrate HRH The Queen's Birthday, and 70th Jubilee last month.

A rambunctious party, and a special guest appearance from her royal highness was enjoyed by all.

The Mayflower Brighton Community, including residents, families, and our team, were involved in the fun day.

Cate, Millies daughter, loved the day, and extended her thanks to all involved in making it happen.

“Both Millie and I really enjoyed it! The entertainer, Judee, was excellent,” says Cate, “my mum sang along to nearly every song.”

Union flags and London-themed decorations were handed out to keen residents as party favours. They were also used to decorate the currently aptly named ‘Queens Bridge’ – a glass walkway feature at our Brighton home (we are trying not to call it the London Bridge!).

June loves the Bridge, and enjoyed seeing the photos of the Queen growing up, and during her reign.

“It was wonderful, I really enjoyed myself,” says June.

Nicole, our gift shop manager, donated brooches to each lady in attendance, announcing, “the Queen is one of the most well-dressed women I’ve seen, and she always wears a brooch, so I thought you might all like one too.”

Leading up to the fun day, residents put scissors to paper and made telephone boxes, and our team made some Big Ben towers to complement their creations - you can read more here.
