A Celebration of Light and Togetherness

Diwali, the festival of lights, brought warmth and unity to Mayflower Reservoir as residents, team members and visitors gathered to celebrate this vibrant tradition. Known for symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and new beginnings, Diwali created an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to connect and celebrate joyfully.

A Feast for the Senses

The festivities began with dazzling decorations, where glowing lights and earthen lamps transformed Mayflower Reservoir into a warm and inviting space. Colourful saris, suits, and traditional attire adorned many team members, sparking engaging conversations and strengthening community bonds.

Bollywood-Inspired Dance Performance

One of the event's highlights was a lively Bollywood-inspired dance performance. The swirling saris, vibrant colour and energetic moves captivated residents - many of whom clapped and tapped their feet in rhythm. The performance was a brilliant display of India’s cultural vibrancy and charm.

Sharing the Traditions of Diwali

The celebration provided an immersive cultural experience. Care and Leisure team members shared stories about the significance of Diwali, exploring traditions that have brought communities together for generations. This exchange deepened understanding and appreciation among the diverse group of residents.

A Feast of Indian Delicacies

No Diwali celebration is complete without a spread of delicious food. Mayflower Reservoir residents enjoyed a variety of Indian delicacies prepared by the in-house chef Lionel. Aromatic curries, savoury snacks, and traditional sweets brought smiles to everyone’s faces, with many excited to try these unique and flavourful dishes.
