Bushfire Appeal Raffle Results Are In!

Thank you to all who contributed to our Bushfire Appeal Raffle at Mayflower.

There is no doubt the bushfires experienced by our beautiful country have been nothing less than horrific. At Mayflower, across our locations, many of us have been affected in many ways, with heartbreaking reports coming through from residents, their families and staff alike.

Mayflower staff and residents wanted to “do something”, and “something” they did.

Heartfelt raffles were put together in a jiffy, with teams and residents working together to get things done. We had seven great prizes up for grabs, including gift cards to spend at the Bossy Boots Café and Gift Shop at Brighton, as well as a gourmet savoury basket and a wine basket complete with French Champagne amongst other prizes donated to the appeal.

Our beautiful country is unique, and one special thing we do well is work together to help a mate, digging deep to lend a hand or help raise funds.

Many visitors, staff and residents bought raffle tickets and made monetary donations, and we would like to thank each one of you for your generous contribution.

Mayflower was able to raise $3710.80 and this money has been donated directly to the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal and the Victoria Zoo’s Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund.

Victoria Zoo’s Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund aims to help deploy specialised veterinary care to wildlife affected by the bushfires and to help develop ongoing scientific intervention and solutions for supplementary food and habitat recovery for our native wildlife.

The winners of the raffles were a combination of staff, residents, visitors and service providers. The winners across our locations were Je Sabang, Wilma Hardy, Allan Wood, Beryl Strickland, Bernadette Tenni, Rubani Bhardwaj and maintenance staff member Glen. Congratulations to all the winners!
