An Egg-citing Easter Hops Across Mayflower
Our communities across Mayflower have been abuzz with Easter celebrations.
The Easter Bunny made a special visit to each residence. He began at Mayflower Brighton, hopped over to Mayflower Edith Bendall and finished his tour at Mayflower Reservoir.

His sunny disposition spread joy and cheer to residents, family members, and our team by handing out chocolates and encouragement. Providing room-to-door ‘eggcellent’ service is all part of what the Easter Bunny delivers.
To add to the fun, Mayflower Edith Bendall had a pinata, while both Mayflower Edith Bendall and Mayflower Reservoir had Easter bonnet parades.
Easter Fun at Mayflower Edith Bendall
The Easter Bonnet parade was a hit among residents, and so was the pinata, which saw everyone in hysterics, “after a few smashes and bashes they finally got all the chocolates out!” says Lillian, Lifestyle Assistant.
The day of Easter fun didn’t stop there. The halls and rooms of Mayflower Edith Bendall were filled with the tantalising smell of a delicious BBQ.
“They had a wonderful BBQ lunch, along with a wine. It was lovely to see everyone laughing and having fun.” After announcing the winners of the raffle, the Edith Bendall community then headed for an afternoon of music and dancing. “Everyone is still reminiscing on the celebration day they had, which is what we are passionate about, says Natalia, Lifestyle Coordinator.
At Mayflower Reservoir, the celebrations continued with dancing, laughter, treats, an egg and sppon race, and even a raffle, too.
Mayflower Reservoir Lifestyle Coordinator Helen says that the team got into the spirit as much as residents and their visiting loved ones. "Everyone loved seeing our team dressed up with bunny ears and Easter hats and the Easter Bunny." The big beaming smiles and plenty of laughter made it a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
The events room was beautifully decorated with large banners, wall hangings and bunnies to help get everyone in to the festive spirit.
Easter is double the fun at Mayflower Reservoir with Western and Orthodox Easter celebrations.
Next week, residents will get busy dying hard-boiled eggs and making Tsoureki bread for Orthodox Easter.
Easter Bunny visits Mayflower Brighton, to the delight of many.
Mayflower Brighton’s Easter Bunny was a hit among residents, with many trying to guess “whos the Easter Bunny?” His identity was kept secret for most of the afternoon, until his identity was finally revealed as Andrew, a student from Xavier College.
Brighton Lifestyle Coordinator Hitesh believes that participating in shared traditions can create a sense of togetherness within the community. According to Hitesh, the residents at Mayflower have found joy in reminiscing and sharing their cultural experiences with one another, particularly during celebrations such as Easter,
“Residents really enjoy reminiscing, laughing and sharing their cultural experiences with each other.”
Mayflower is committed to making every day better for our residents by providing genuine, personalised care and support that fosters individual cultural, religious, and spiritual needs.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Easter celebrations at Mayflower Edith Bendall and Mayflower Reservoir. We look forward to more joyful moments like this in the future!
