Aged Care Employee Day – we say 'Thanks for Caring.'

On Wednesday, 7th August, we celebrate Aged Care Employee Day (ACED), a special occasion dedicated to celebrating the thousands of incredible aged care workers across Australia, especially our devoted team at Mayflower.

Aged Care Employee Day is a national event that honours more than 370,000 dedicated individuals who provide care and support to more than 1.5 million older Australians. Now in its sixth year and hosted by ACCPA, ACED highlights the tireless efforts of Australia’s incredible aged care employees.

This Australian National Day of Significance, held on 7th August each year, prompts aged care employers and the wider community to say, ‘Thanks for Caring.’

To mark this day, we reached out to our management, team leaders, and residents within our community to express their gratitude. The heartfelt responses we received were overwhelming. We've compiled a selection of these kind and supportive messages into a video, which you can view below.

We Appreciate our Team

We appreciate our aged care workers for their unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients. Their patience, empathy, and professionalism ensure that each person receives the highest standard of care.

Whether it's providing care support and assisting with daily activities, activities of leisure or simply offering a comforting presence, our team members make a significant difference every day.

Aged Care Employee Day celebrates every team member involved in caring for our clients and residents.

This includes nurses, personal care workers, allied health professionals, administration and reception, chefs and cooks, environmental and laundry teams, leisure and care support, gardeners, managers, and volunteers.

A special mention goes to our Mayflower Home Care team, who tirelessly support our clients in the comfort of their own homes, fostering independence and dignity. We salute you all.
