Beginning with the skillful tunes of Music Therapist Flora on the piano, the day swayed to its own rhythm. The melodies beckoned residents to the dance floor, where laughter and camaraderie intertwined seamlessly.
Soon team members performed to traditional music from their individual cultures, with samplings of music and attire representing India, China, Thailand and Australia.
“Hello, Possums!”
The cherry on top was the unexpected appearance of lifestyle team member Lillian dressed as ‘Dame Edna,’ who brought an extra dose of happiness. ‘Dame Edna’ added the nostalgic touch to the day by wearing an iconic dress from the archives, previously owned and worn by Barry Humphries himself.
The celebration of culture and diversity painted a tapestry woven with cultural pride and shared laughter. It exemplified the joy of unity, music, heritage and togetherness - creating cherished memories and fostering bonds amongst the community.
As the sun set on this remarkable day, the air was filled with the warmth of shared experiences. It was a heartwarming reminder that moments of celebration enrich lives and create lasting connections.
